Job Description

As Global Strategic Sourcing Manager for IT, you'll own the sourcing strategy for a spend portfolio of up to €100M, delivering best-in-class cost and cash results across JDE Peet's global IT category. Reporting to the Global Strategic Sourcing Director Business Services, you'll develop and execute robust sourcing strategies while building strong supplier relationships that position JDE as a customer of choice. This is a role for someone with sharp commercial instincts and deep IT category expertise, operating in a complex, global matrix environment where results are what count. 

We are looking for a highly strategic procurement leader with strong technology market intelligence and a deep understanding of the global IT supplier ecosystem, including major technology providers, SaaS companies, cloud hyperscalers, software vendors, and IT services partners. The successful candidate combines procurement excellence with strong business acumen and the ability to translate technology trends and supplier dynamics into competitive sourcing strategies and impactful negotiation outcomes. 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Lead strategic category planning across key IT spend areas such as software, cloud, infrastructure, digital, data, cybersecurity, telecom, and IT professional services, aligning sourcing strategies with business priorities and technology roadmaps 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior IT, Digital, Security, and Finance stakeholders by bringing strong external market insights, supplier intelligence, benchmarking, and negotiation strategies 
  • Identify and prioritise total cost of ownership savings opportunities and lead their implementation 
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations with global technology suppliers, including enterprise software vendors, cloud providers, system integrators, and strategic outsourcing partners 
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement and positioning JDE as a customer of choice, ensure contract execution and compliance 
  • Build a longer-term productivity pipeline to ensure continuous delivery against procurement targets 
  • Oversee risk management activities and ensure full compliance with internal policies and the Operating Model 
  • Continuously monitor technology market developments, supplier trends, AI-driven transformation, and emerging commercial practices to proactively shape sourcing and negotiation strategies

For this role as Global Strategic Sourcing Manager – IT, we're looking for someone who has the following skills and experience: 

  • 6+ years of strategic sourcing and procurement experience in IT or technology categories 
  • Extensive experience managing complex global technology suppliers and negotiating enterprise-level agreements across IT categories 
  • Highly strategic mindset combined with strong analytical capability, commercial curiosity, and the confidence to challenge suppliers and internal stakeholders constructively 
  • Strong track record delivering cost and cash results in a complex, global environment 
  • Experience developing and executing category strategies and leading cross-functional teams 
  • Strong understanding of technology supplier business models, licensing structures, commercial frameworks, and evolving technology market trends 
  • Excellent project management, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management skills 
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive under pressure 
  • Degree level education; MBA or further qualification preferred
